Ballet (Pre-Ballet)
Classical ballet is taught with emphasis on building a strong base knowledge, precise technique and proper body alignment. Students are encouraged to explore their imagination and creativity while dancing to classical music. The classes are structured to develop coordination, motor skills and musicality.
Intro To Dance
Excellent for those who want to try it all! A variety of dances will be introduced to the students. This class is designed for young dancers to get a feel for movement, rhythm and musicality while being familiarized to basic technique specific to each dance style.
Parent and Tots
A great way to get the little ones ready for dance! This class introduces our young dancers (2-3 yrs.) to the world of music and dance while parents are participating and able to guide them through new experiences and skills! Parents must participate.
Musical Theatre
If you enjoy Glee, High School Musical, Mamma Mia and Hairspray you will like musical theatre! Students will work on acting essentials, vocal training and dance combinations. Throughout the program, students will work on a selection of songs from popular musicals as well as have the opportunity to be a part of full musical theatre production if they chose to be a part of our new musical theatre production class!
Jazz
With this always-evolving dance style, students will be the basics of jazz technique building off of traditional ballet technique. Taught to the music of today, jazz class is energetic and challenging but with the emphasis on fun. Classes will consist of warm-up, across the floor exercises, and a high-energy combination.
Tap
Come make your own music! Tap is high-energy style of dance where rhythm, style and technique are intertwined. Students will be introduced to fundamental technique through exercises at the bar and across the floor. The classes are designed to develop coordination, motor skills and musicality.
Hip Hop
A high-energy class that uses the latest rap, R&B, and pop music. Hip hop encompasses movement that has elements of poppin’, locking, and breaking to introduce students the original hip hop technique as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. New this year is competitive hip-hop, a chance for students to progress and learn new styles and have more performance opportunities. Available only to children registered in recreational hip-hop.
Breakdance 101 a.k.a Bboying
Learn one of the four elements of hip hop cultureĀ from a Canadian National Champion e. Learn the art of Toprock, Footwork, Powermoves and Freezes. This is a very popular class that will leave you wanting more. Jhaymee’s goal is to build his students as freestyle dancers and teach them the techniques and skills to feel comfortable in every aspect of breaking. Come take this high energy dance and get loose! All levels welcome.
