Policies

GENERAL

1. Dancers must arrive five minutes prior to class start time, with class-appropriate attire

(See Attire Guidelines below).

 

2. Excluding the Parents & Tots class, parents and guardians are not permitted to watch

during class time, as it is a distraction to the students’ learning and development.

However, you are welcome to watch the last five minutes before class ends. Viewing

weeks are implemented for each term; please refer to the calendar for more details.

 

3. Dancers must behave appropriately at all times. It is mandatory to respect the teacher

and other students in class.

 

4. Gum, food, and non-water beverages are not permitted during class. Please bring a

water bottle, as the instructor will permit water breaks.

 

5. Parents, guardians and dancers are to remain in the wait area prior to class start. Please

be respectful to the class in session and keep voices down.

 

6. Dancers are to be picked up within 5 minutes of class dismissal. Drive Dance Kids &

DDC will not be held responsible for students who leave the premises, for any reason.

Please ensure that your child knows to wait for you inside the studio.

 

7. Classes cancelled by the studio will be re-scheduled. Make up classes are not available

when missed due to illness or other conflicts. Refunds will not be issued for absences.

 

8. A doctor’s release is required for an injured dancer to return to classes.

 

9. Each instructor reserves the right to appropriately discipline a student and/or ask them to

sit out quietly for a portion of a class if presented with inappropriate behavior.

 

10 . No camera’s allowed in the auditorium during Christmas or year-end recitals, or musical

theatre production.

 

CANCELLATIONS

1. Drive Dance Kids will refund posted term checks and registration fee in exchange for

$25 if a child wishes to drop a class prior to the 3rd class commencing.

 

2. After 3 classes, no refund will be issued. In special circumstances we encourage

students to try another class of any style.

 

3. In the event of injury or serious illness, or if the student moves 20km away from Drive

Dance Centre 1839 Commercial Drive location after registration has been completed

- Drive Dance Centre will return any post-dated checks that have not been cashed.

Checks will be issued once proof of address and/or a medical note has been provided.

 

4. Arrangement for any cancellations or refunds must be done though Drive Dance Kids’,

Artistic Director, Glynis Waring.

 

 FEES

1. Payment for all classes is required prior to the commencement of Term1. Once

payment as been processed, a $10.00 change fee will be added to your account for

every class change request.

 

2. Payment is to be made in three installments based on three terms: Fall, winter, and

Spring. Post-dated checks to “Drive Dance Centre” are submitted at the beginning of

year. (All payments are processed on the 1st of September, January, and April.)

 

3. A $20.00 processing fee will be charged for all returned NSF cheques.

 

4. Drive Dance Kids reserves the right to discontinue a dancer’s classes in the event of

late or missed payment of tuition and fees.

 

5. All late payments are subject to a $10.00 late fee.
